Nike Air Pegasus 89 G Gets Patriotic Makeover for U.S. Open

The Nike Air Pegasus 89 G joins the ranks of other performance-inspired lifestyle sneakers for the U.S. Open at Pinehurst. While the Air Zoom Infinity Tour 2 and Victory Tour 3 cater to elite athletes, the Pegasus 89 G offers a stylish option for casual golf fans.

This U.S. Open edition features a light and dark blue colorway, inspired by North Carolina, Michael Jordan’s alma mater. But the details go beyond just color.

A variety of textures elevate the design. The Swooshes, overlays, tongues, and sockliners utilize hairy and smooth suede alongside soft terry cloth. The theme continues with “Accept” and “Embrace” messaging on the tongue labels, laces, and insoles.

A subtle nod to the famed Pinehurst No. 2 course is displayed on the heel with the number “2.” Finally, the marbled outsole ties together the various shades used throughout the upper.
